Week Two: The Master Key Experience – Gatekeeper or Monkey Mind?

What you think you become You are what you eat. How many times have we heard it, thought it, and said it?  The body perfectly expresses the truth of this statement. What about the mind? You are what you THINK!  This is equally true and this eternal truth is expressed in many traditions.

The Bible: “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” [Proverbs 4:23]

The Buddha: “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.’

Emerson: “You become what you think about all day long.”

Pretty powerful stuff!  No wonder we focus on self-mastery in both body and mind in the Monkey MindMaster Key Experience.  In Week 1, our assignment was to sit perfectly still for 15 minutes.  This week, Week 2, our assignment is to sit perfectly still for 15 minutes with no thought.  I achieve a series of moments of mindlessness daily. The Monkey Mind rules, however!  The Monkey Mind is the mind of distractions. The Monkey Mind fills my time of repose and focus with ‘To Do’ lists, mini-rants, questions, curiosities about the sounds I hear outside…….and on and on and on.  It is a humbling demonstration of the importance of training the mind, for if my life is shaped by my thoughts, it is beneficial to be the one consciously directing those thoughts.

tame the monkey mindAnd consciously directing thoughts is the job of the Objective mind. If we are to create our life through our thoughts, then we must be in control of the thoughts that enter into our consciousness. Haanel tells us “Not only can it impress other minds, but it can direct the subconscious mind. In this way the conscious mind becomes the responsible ruler and guardian of the subconscious mind. It is this high function which can completely reverse conditions in your life.”

Mastering the Seven Laws of Mind empowers us to become the master of our lives, the Gatekeeper who directs and instructs the sub-conscious mind such that the life of the desires of our hearts becomes our daily experience.

Stay tuned. This adventure only gets more interesting!

Week Five: The GREAT MKMMA Adventure: The “O” Word

TheShipWentDownLikeLead“A man cannot speak but he judges himself. With his will, or against his will, he draws his portrait to the eye of his companions by every word. Every OPINION reacts on him who utters it. It is a thread-ball thrown at a mark, but the other end remains in the thrower’s bag. Or, rather, it is a harpoon hurled at the whale, unwinding as it flies a coil of cord in the boat, and to cut the steersman in twain, or to sink the boat.”    Emerson: Compensation

I’ve read this essay at least 10 times, but today, today is the first time I consciously read this paragraph.  Be the Observer of your life. No Opinions.

No Opinions.  Made it today until 3pm without a SPOKEN5.0.2 opinion. But The Master Keys is about the Mastery of the Mind…. [Only made it till NOON on that front!] On the way, we strive for mastery of the Body, for if we cannot master something as dense and tangible as our flesh, how is the mastery of our direct connection to God All That Is, to the Infinite, possible?

I observed today that opinions fall into two categories.  Mindless Mutterings or Stunning Stilettos right out of 52nd Street

I am thankful today’s opinions were of the First Order, Mindless Mutterings. But I reflect on my Younger Youth, when I actually prided myself at the blood I could draw with that Stiletto Tongue.  As I have traversed my Hero’s Journey, I recognize that my Shadow Self is still present.  She has become befriended dragon over the years, but that the Stunning Stiletto lies dormant awakens an awareness of how the Opinion Voiced by Mass Consciousness as well as people in my life polluted the mind into its own Love Canal which, in turn, has the potential to leach its poisons into my world.

Copy of Great_Silence-2Self-Mastery cleanses and purifies all of that. Mastering being The Observer of my Life – one of the great fortunes gained as a result of this work.

Mahalo Mucho for it!

Week CW21: The Great MKMMA Adventure – The Lunatic Fringe

conformity1Read a great book summary this week: Break from the Pack by Oren Harari. The book explores the quagmire of Commodity Hell resulting from the lemming-like emergence of a global ‘copy cat’ mentality and the perils of being ‘one of many in the pack’. Sooner, rather than later, the pack is backed into a downward spiral with the destructive potential of the Ebola virus going through a remote village in Africa. The destruction stops when everyone is dead. The addictive processes of the Copy Cat, stuck in the pack of Commodity Hell destroy companies, jobs, communities, and people. The death sentence manifests as Whitman’s quiet life of desperation,          unless, and until, you choose the road less traveled. If you make that choice, if you          answer that Herald’s Call, just how do you break out of the pack? How do you re-create yourself? The book is talking about markets, and it lists 11 qualities essential to breaking out of the pack into the lead.

meaning of life 2

I am talking about your life,
something vastly more important.

For myself, none of those qualities were possible until I became, in Emerson’s words, DANGEROUS, until I had become Self-Reliant, touch of madnesswhat Jack Welch refers to as being ‘out on the      Lunatic Fringe’. In a world governed by institutions that increasingly demand a lower and lower common denominator of individualism and ever        increasing obedience to authority, creativity is discouraged. My husband is a counselor, and the new diagnostic manual has made a mental illness of almost everything that could possibly distinguish someone in life. In other words, if you do not conform to the behaviors of an obedient and compliant population, you must be mentally ill.

extraordinary-girl-inspiration-life-quote-favim-com-128258_largeMost people, once they realize what is being imposed upon them, get angry until they discover that there is a better way to express their displeasure. The Master Keys, Master Mind Alliance was and is that better way for me. By casting my lot with creativity and self-discovery, my life has become self-directed in the service of others, and happiness and harmony bubble up from within me. By choosing to do the work of the MKMMA, I discovered that becoming one of Emerson’s Dangerous people, I am able to make a huge contribution to the world! Most people become very excited when they realize that they, too, can discover themselves, loose their magnificence upon the world, and re-wire their brains for effortless creation of the desires of their hearts! I am doing this work for a second time starting next month. I cannot wait to discover what being part of that Lunatic Fringe of people who think, laugh, love life, give selflessly, and leaves the pack farther and farther behind will bring this time around!  Do the IMPOSSIBLE!  It’s FUN!!

Week C1: The Great MKMMA Adventure – Agent Smith Removes His Earpiece

OLDBLUEPRINTBORISI have great hope for Agent Smith. In my version of The Matrix, he evolves from machine to Man.  What is my evidence for this?  When he speaks with Morpheus, he removes his ear earpiecepiece.  This little device connects him to all the other machines. They are not individuals, but part of a collective. They all know where the others in the system are, what they are thinking, saying, doing.  Agent Smith is different. Through some means not revealed in the movie, Agent Smith has developed his individual consciousness. He is aware of his power to choose to be a part of the mass consciousness or to be something else…to be what Emerson calls Self-Reliant, a man who is capable of acting out of his own thinking, a man who, by this very act, threatens society.  Agent Smith’s action of removing that little tracking device connecting him to the world of machines is an act of great courage.Agent Smmith no earpiece He does not want everyone else to know that he is speaking with Morpheus, that he is awake and aware of the system of which he is a part, and that he is highly dissatisfied with his place in the Matrix. He has emotions, expressing frustration, impatience, exhaustion, and hatred of the Matrix itself and his place in it.

Agent Smith answered the Herald’s Call and put himself in a place to change his world.

The MKMMA training gives us that same power, with a few critical distinctions.  We know from the Law of Growth that whatever we think about grows, and what we ignore, atrophies.  We know to focus on what we WANT in life, and to power that with emotions. We even know how to turn anger into energy to move us closer to the fulfillment of our life purpose and dreams; how to turn fear into laser focus; how to turn hurt feelings into gratitude for being capable of deeply caring; how to turn guilt into powerful validation of our ability to know the next right thing to do; and how to transmute unworthiness to humility, keeping us on track.

kermit_bikes_01-620x344EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, we are now mastering Rule Number Six.  I was delighted to learn that this rule is one of life’s great truths!  It has been my mantra for decades that it is my job to keep myself amused.  Laughing at myself keeps my life in perspective, especially when Agent Smith’s companion machines appear, intent upon stealing my joy.

Two prime ministers are sitting in a room discussing affairs of state. Suddenly a man bursts in, apoplectic with fury, shouting and stamping and banging his fist on the desk. The resident prime minister admonishes him: “Peter,” he says, “kindly remember Rule Number 6,” whereupon Peter is instantly restored to complete calm, apologizes, and withdraws.

The politicians return to their conversation, only to be interrupted yet again twenty minutes later by a hysterical woman gesticulating wildly, her hair flying. Again, the intruder is greeted with the words, “Marie, please remember Rule Number 6.” Complete calm descends once more, and she too withdraws with a bow and an apology.

When the scene is repeated for a third time, the visiting prime minister addresses his colleague. “My dear friend, I’ve seen many things in my life, but never anything as remarkable as this. Would you be willing to share with me the secret of Rule Number 6?”

“Very simple,” replies the resident prime minister. “Rule Number 6 is ‘Don’t take yourself so g–damn seriously.’”

“Ah,” Says his visitor, that is a fine rule.”

After a moment of pondering, he inquires, “And what, may I ask, are the other rules?”

“There aren’t any.”

Og Mandino says there is nothing as comical as taking oneself too seriously. After I stop laughing at me, with a big, big smile, I remind myself that ‘This too shall pass’ and I have the pleasure of getting on with my life, now restored by the act and gift of laughter.
