Week C2: The Great MKMMA Adventure – Giant Seekers and Slayers

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Dave Ramsey said that when he was bankrupt, he sought out millionaires.  Now that he is a millionaire, he seeks out billionaires. He understands the importance of seeking out and living in a world of Giants.

Og Mandino, in Scroll VII, says “I will always remain as a child, for only as a child am I given the ability to look up to others;”

Looking up to another – admiration, respect, humility, recognizing the triumph of the Human Spirit, the unleashing of another’s potential into creation – Seeing a Giant before your very eyes.

We must be Giant Seekers to live into our greatness.

Jack lived in a world of giants as well, and just as Dave Ramsey understood that the “Giant” held the key to his success, Jack knew that he had to enter into the world of the Giant and slayJack-the-Giant-Killer-300x300 him in order to obtain the prize.

David slew Goliath, and in doing so, he gave courage and permission for the rest of the tribe to enter into the battle. A great victory was won that day. In order to thrive, we like David and Jack, must become Giant Slayers.

We must be both Giant Seekers and Giant Slayers.  As a Giant Seeker, we recognize greatness in others, and also see the seeds of greatness within ourselves, greatness which may need encouragement or expression.  As a Giant Slayer, we accept and embrace those conditions which appear to block the path. By embracing them, they become teachers and allies, and we now have companions on the Hero’s Journey.

Our greatest fear is recognizing that we are powerful beyond measure, and living into that greatness and power.  Of all the Giants which must be slain, this is the most powerful. This is the Giant that is slain when we become The Greatest Salesman in the World. Successfully selling ourselves on ourselves uncovers priceless treasures, treasures that make Warren Buffet’s wealth pale by comparison.

My storehouse contains the power to create anything my heart truly desires. I have done the work, and paid the price. I have sought out the Giants and they have yielded their secret treasures.  I have embraced the Kraken, and he no longer devours my future.  Your Wish is My Command.  The Genie of the Lamp is the Subby, and he works for me.  I live in the Law of Least Effort, effortlessly living a life I love.  Do I work?  ABSOLUTELY!  But I do not toil.  Adam and Eve worked the garden.  They toiled the earth after they were expelled from Eden. Work enlivens. Toil destroys the spirit.

One heart, one mind, at a time, we change the world. First, we change our own world. Then, we mentor others in changing theirs.  What is it that your heart desires? You, and you alone, have the power to make it so when you master the keys of Giant Seeking and Giant Slaying.

Week C1: The Great MKMMA Adventure – Agent Smith Removes His Earpiece

OLDBLUEPRINTBORISI have great hope for Agent Smith. In my version of The Matrix, he evolves from machine to Man.  What is my evidence for this?  When he speaks with Morpheus, he removes his ear earpiecepiece.  This little device connects him to all the other machines. They are not individuals, but part of a collective. They all know where the others in the system are, what they are thinking, saying, doing.  Agent Smith is different. Through some means not revealed in the movie, Agent Smith has developed his individual consciousness. He is aware of his power to choose to be a part of the mass consciousness or to be something else…to be what Emerson calls Self-Reliant, a man who is capable of acting out of his own thinking, a man who, by this very act, threatens society.  Agent Smith’s action of removing that little tracking device connecting him to the world of machines is an act of great courage.Agent Smmith no earpiece He does not want everyone else to know that he is speaking with Morpheus, that he is awake and aware of the system of which he is a part, and that he is highly dissatisfied with his place in the Matrix. He has emotions, expressing frustration, impatience, exhaustion, and hatred of the Matrix itself and his place in it.

Agent Smith answered the Herald’s Call and put himself in a place to change his world.

The MKMMA training gives us that same power, with a few critical distinctions.  We know from the Law of Growth that whatever we think about grows, and what we ignore, atrophies.  We know to focus on what we WANT in life, and to power that with emotions. We even know how to turn anger into energy to move us closer to the fulfillment of our life purpose and dreams; how to turn fear into laser focus; how to turn hurt feelings into gratitude for being capable of deeply caring; how to turn guilt into powerful validation of our ability to know the next right thing to do; and how to transmute unworthiness to humility, keeping us on track.

kermit_bikes_01-620x344EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, we are now mastering Rule Number Six.  I was delighted to learn that this rule is one of life’s great truths!  It has been my mantra for decades that it is my job to keep myself amused.  Laughing at myself keeps my life in perspective, especially when Agent Smith’s companion machines appear, intent upon stealing my joy.

Two prime ministers are sitting in a room discussing affairs of state. Suddenly a man bursts in, apoplectic with fury, shouting and stamping and banging his fist on the desk. The resident prime minister admonishes him: “Peter,” he says, “kindly remember Rule Number 6,” whereupon Peter is instantly restored to complete calm, apologizes, and withdraws.

The politicians return to their conversation, only to be interrupted yet again twenty minutes later by a hysterical woman gesticulating wildly, her hair flying. Again, the intruder is greeted with the words, “Marie, please remember Rule Number 6.” Complete calm descends once more, and she too withdraws with a bow and an apology.

When the scene is repeated for a third time, the visiting prime minister addresses his colleague. “My dear friend, I’ve seen many things in my life, but never anything as remarkable as this. Would you be willing to share with me the secret of Rule Number 6?”

“Very simple,” replies the resident prime minister. “Rule Number 6 is ‘Don’t take yourself so g–damn seriously.’”

“Ah,” Says his visitor, that is a fine rule.”

After a moment of pondering, he inquires, “And what, may I ask, are the other rules?”

“There aren’t any.”

Og Mandino says there is nothing as comical as taking oneself too seriously. After I stop laughing at me, with a big, big smile, I remind myself that ‘This too shall pass’ and I have the pleasure of getting on with my life, now restored by the act and gift of laughter.

Week Twenty-Four: The Great MKMMA Adventure – DARE to Live!

Nouvelle_JerusalemWhat is the purpose of the Hero’s Journey other than to retrieve your very soul from the pits of hell to which you, your family, your community, your beliefs, and the limitations of conforming to societal expectations have condemned it?

During the civil wars in feudal Japan, an invading army would quickly sweep into a town and take control. In one particular village, everyone fled just before the army arrived – everyone except the Zen master. Curious about this old fellow, the general went to the temple to see for himself what kind of man this master was. When he wasn’t treated with the deference and submissiveness to which he was accustomed, the general burst into anger. “You fool,” he shouted as he reached for his sword, “don’t you realize you are standing before a man who could run you through without blinking an eye!” But despite the threat, the master seemed unmoved. “And do you realize,” the master replied calmly, samurai-monk“that you are standing before a man who can be run through without blinking an eye?”

The Law of Least Effort: Defenselessness: “I relinquish the need to defend my point of view….to convince or persuade others to accept my point of view.  I remain open to all points of view and am not rigidly attached to any one of them.

I AM not the body.
The Body is just a subtle instrument of the Soul.
I AM not the emotion.
Emotion is just a subtle instrument of the Soul.
I AM not the thought.
Thought is just a subtle instrument of the Soul.
I AM not the mind.
The Mind is just a subtle instrument of the Soul.
    I AM the Soul.
                         I AM a Spiritual Being
Divine Intelligence, Divine Love, Divine Power.
I AM One with my Higher Soul.
I AM One with the Divine Spark within me.
I AM a Child of God,
Connected with God, ONE with God, ONE with ALL.
         I AM THAT, I AM.

This is the life giving treasure, the fountain of youth and vitality, the secret of eternal life that is revealed within universal-mind-quantum-power-1000x500the heart of the one who harkens to the herald and dares to walk into the darkness of the abyss. What is it worth?  It is priceless. This truth is the treasure the Hero brings back to the tribe, and the truth that the tribe often rejects in spite of their love of the story. This is why the Hero’s Journey is the only story worth telling. Perhaps the telling of it opens the hearing of another who then has the courage to answer his own herald’s call.

I invite all of you to tell your stories. What a gift of eternal proportion!  Your life is your gift. It’s the only gift you give, so give it!

Dare to live.

WEEK TWENTY-ONE: The GREAT MKMMA Adventure – Transubstantiation

eucharistFor the Western faithful in Christ, Transubstantiation [in Latin, transubstantiation, In Greek, μετουσίωσις, metousiosis] is that point in the Holy Eucharist wherein the bread and wine used in the sacrament of the Eucharist become the body and blood of Christ. This is not a symbolic change, but also a change in reality. It IS the body and blood of Christ even if the outward appearances remain unchanged.

This is one of the great mysteries of faith, surpassing human understanding. The Orthodox Churches beautifully express this as a Divine Mystery.

For the past two weeks, we have been asked to ponder this very thing.  How can Fear, Anger, Unworthiness, Guilt, and Hurt Feelings become tools? How can something ‘common’ become sacred?  How can that which pins us to the mat of destructive habits, become a tool for ascension, catapulting us forward, transfiguring our self-imposed baseness into the image, likeness, and nature of the magnificent beings God foresaw when we were still being knit together in the womb? It has been a fortnight of JacobJacob Wrestling with the Angel, Eugene Delacroix c. 1861 wrestling with the Angel, to be sure!

And wrestling with BIG questions imbues a treasure-trove of wisdom for those who choose to join the fray! This IS the Hero’s Journey!! We do not want to destroy these dragons. We want to love them, to integrate them into our very beings so that the treasure they guard becomes our own.

This is the treasure my dragons gave to me. Acceptance of self and others shows me where I am on the map so I can proceed to where I want to go.

Fear gives the gift of courage and triumph, and the joy of overcoming.

Anger gives the gift of compassion and understanding, and the ability to be of service.

Unworthiness holds within it the gift of the power to see clearly, to consciously choose to step back into my God-given perfection and magnificence.

Guilt gifts me with honesty, owning my actions and thoughts, and then moves me into courage to make it right.

Hurt Feelings bestow upon me insight, perspective, and then laughter!  Do I really think I am the target of malice? I get to change my story about ‘it’ and restore harmony and love to my life.

mount_doomAll of these grant the opportunity to consciously choose the direction of my life, to choose disharmony or maxfield_parrish01harmony, to live the Hero’s Journey or to die, to see clearly or to rub Vaseline on my sun glasses, to live in the miracle of creation powered by Love, or to cut myself off from God, wither, and die. It is truly a musical dance of the spheres. I must go through the disharmony, embrace it, accept it, and then move to the exquisite harmonic resolution wherein harmony is restored.

I either open the spicket of Love in me and as me, freeing it to powerfully flow through me, or I turn the spicket off, stopping the flow.

It’s up to me to choose transubstantiation.

WEEK TWENTY: The Great MKMMA Adventure – Hemmler and Hamlet

Heinrich-Himmler-family potraitHeinrich Himmler was a family man, a man who made sure that his family was properly cared and provided for. He believed that  ”….. we must be honest, decent, loyal, and comradely to members of our own blood and to nobody else.”

What is the nature of man?  I believe that man’s nature is inherently good, and that, overwhelmingly, man desires to bring goodness into the world. This is true for history’s greatest villains as well as practices deemed by our current culture as abominable.

Himmler prided himself that, as a German, he was one of the only civilizations on earth to treat ‘human animals’ with decency. He, together with the leadership of Nazi Germany, believed they were doing the world a service through ‘evakuierung, or evacuation’, of those who they deemed to carry inferior characteristics. This was for the benefit of mankind.  Those they deemed inferior included Jews, Gypsies, young people who loved jazz and swing dancing, homosexuals, and people who did not agree with their belief system. Most people today would disagree with the perspective held by the Nazis, but for them, it was a high truth and a path to perfection.

Ancient cultures practiced human and animal sacrifice.  As reported by Philo, the sacrificial child was placed in a bronze case which was then placed on the arms of the statue of the goddess, Tanit.  Philo reports that “The hands of the statue extended over a brazier into which the child fell once the flames had caused the limbs to contract and its mouth to open … . The child was alive and conscious when burned”   Philo specified that the sacrificed child was best-loved.   Only the unblemished, perfect children were chosen for this honor.

This practice was found in every culture of the time. The sacrifice of Jacob, stopped by the angel of God, was on a mountain top where child sacrifice was practiced.  God providing the ram started a shift in that consciousness, culminating in Christianity in Christ, the Lamb of God, wherein even animal sacrifice was no longer considered necessary in order to have the greater society and culture survive and thrive.

The sacrifice of 1000 warriors in one day by the high priests of the Aztecs, witnessed by the Spaniard’s when they were revered guestsduran-diego-human-sacrifice-1579 of the King, was also done for the benefit of the society.

History overflows with examples and instances of the killing of one for the benefit of many.  What is important to understand is that none of this killing was murder. All was done SO THAT good would result.

I have long believed that there is only One: one energy, one force, one source. For me, that One Source is God. God breathes into us His nature, and in His great love, looses us to do with that power what we will. In the many decades of my life journey, I have seen the truth of Haanel’s statement on the origin of both good and evil. “They are simply words which have been coined in order to indicate the nature of the result of the thinking or creative process.”

Or, as Hamlet, Prince of Denmark,  observed, “…for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

This is central to the Hero’s Journey. We have the power of  ‘good’ and ‘evil’, of darkness and light, and unless we understand this, we are the pawns of those who do.

my father myself

Life is the mastery of questions. What do we do with this paradox?

When confronted with evil, can we ask the question “What good is this person attempting to create?”

This question does not change my perspective of what I deem ‘evil’, but it opens my heart to compassion and my mind to understanding.
