Did your Mother force you to eat cold glue with milk and sugar, otherwise known as OATMEAL, when you were a child? She told me is was delicious……one of two lies she told me as a child. [The other was that liver was the same thing as steak….]
Well, I checked out Quaker Oats because by Wednesday, I was feeling like the O.A.T.L.E.S.S. Wonder. I have accomplished a lot this week, but I had not planned the WEEK…just two days out of it. So I thought a little research was in order.
Three Benefits of O.A.T.S.
1. Helps reduce the risk of heart disease.
WOW!!!! I had not really considered this, but not living into one’s passion and purpose results in living a life of quiet desperation. If that is not a disease of the heart, nothing is. So, I promise to take care of my heart by putting my business and mission on the calendar, one full week at a time.
2. Helps control non-insulin dependent diabetes.
God intends our lives to be filled with sweetness….not the kind that refined white sugar delivers, but the kind the causes a big smile to break out and fill your face and your world because it is simply impossible to hold in all that JOY!!!! The epidemic of diabetes looks to me like an embodiment of lack of sweetness in life. So, I promise to take care of my body by putting my business and mission on the calendar, one full week at a time.
3. Increases your energy.
“Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.” You’re right, Dorothy!! Oz was the path of your Hero’s Journey, and everything that happened along the way was an essential part of your path. I intend to also succeed on my Hero’s Journey, paying attention to every piece, of which O.A.T.S. is an integral path. By the end of the first month, I know I’ll have more time and more energy than I’ve had in my life. So, I promise to ‘eat my energy bar’ every week, using the O.A.T.S tool and then living the calendar, because there ‘ain’t nothin’ ” that increases your energy like SUCCESS.
